Vintage Wedding Dress Code

My husband and I just got back from Michigan. We were attending one of my longtime friend's wedding. We have been friends since primary school back home in Zimbabwe. We attended the same high school. She was my tennis partner in doubles at high school. We lived in the same area back home. We have so many good memories together. Now she lives in Chicago and I'm in New York... years later and we are still friends. Even if we don't talk for months, whenever we talk it's like we were never apart. It is so important to build solid friendships. 

It was such a beautiful wedding and we had so much fun. She looked like a queen in her Nigerian garb and so beautiful in her wedding gown. My heart was so full to see her so happy and I was at peace to see how much her new husband loves her and loves God. What more could you ask for...

Plaid Shenanigans

Either I really miss my home, Zimbabwe or the fact that I can now walk almost everywhere has me wearing this bag almost everyday. It is quite comfortable, accommodates all my belongings and gives my outfits that boho look that I like. I bought it at the Avondale flea market in Harare, Zimbabwe two years ago and I have worn it more in the past month than ever before. 

Plaid is a great fall print so if I were you I would jump on it. I recently sold this and this in the store and kind of regret listing them. Lol... kidding. Plaid and flannel all in one. You snooze, you lose. More plaid and flannel coming to the boutique soon.

It's all over

We are finally done with all the moving... that's what's been keeping me from you. hehehe :) I love our new place and I can't wait to finish decorating.

I posted this on my FB wall the morning of our move because I was is awe yet again of how God orchestrated everything... I thought I would share it on here.

God is so excellent guys. When we submit to Him He orders our footsteps... I mean even the little details. Do you know what it means to have your footsteps ordered by the One who holds the universe in His hands? You go through each day with peace and stability. Come what may... I am established because it is not me but God who is in control. Hallelujah!!!

Vintage Tribal Silk

We're moving in a few days so it's been quite hectic. I can't wait to decorate our new place though. I am thinking all shades of white, metallics and an occasional splash of color. I love the juxtaposition of modern pieces, vintage/antique pieces and tribal pieces... all in one home.

You should have seen my face when I found this oversized silk vintage cardigan...

Floral on Floral on Floral

I picked up these shoes while on honeymoon in Cape Town, South Africa. They have been quite handy as I wear them a lot on my vintage hunts. They are so comfortable which is so important as I can literally spend the whole day on my feet. I removed the laces because I like them better this way.

Try mixing different floral prints for a unique look. As long as there is a common color the look will come together beautifully. The common color here is black.
